Right now, I am on cloud nine. We started the day off with an amazing breakfast at the hotel, followed by a delicious lunch at Leo’s Mexican Restaurant, before checking into our room on the cruise ship. We’re sailing with Star Princess, and for 15 nights we have a balcony suite, which gives us just a little extra space in the form of a couch and a coffee table, along with some outdoor space!
When the steward checked us in, he brought us each a glass of Champagne and we were in a really great mood as we unpacked and enjoyed our drink together. To get into the holiday spirit I brought along some Christmas decorations, including garland, a cinnamon apple scented bead jar, and battery operated candles for effect. (For fire hazard reasons, I would imagine that Christmas lights and flame burning candles aren’t allowed.) I also hung up some ornaments, and strung Christmas cards over our bed.
Even though we already ate a big breakfast and lunch, we pigged out at dinner. The food on Princess ships is always quite spectacular, and tonight was no exception! We filled our tummies to the brim with a way better than average Caesar salad, prime rib steak, and a Hawaiian pork chop with apricot drippings. #Yum
Just after sunset, we sat outside on our balcony, and enjoyed an adult beverage while we sailed away from port. Afterwards, we spent some time exploring the ship, which was surprisingly empty!
I’m guessing that most people were probably at dinner, were avoiding the cold air, or just called it an early night!
I guess we’re getting old, because that’s exactly what we plan to do! I’ve got a full tummy and a heavy head…looking forward to a good night’s rest in a comfy bed!
