Trattoria Italiana is located in the the Intercontinental resort’s lower lobby and offers a delicious menu with good service and a romantic atmosphere.
We’ve eaten here a few times and have always opted to sit outside on the terrace, overlooking the pool, which is just a short distance from the beach. The sound of the ocean, combined with the coqui frogs chirping is truly a beautiful experience! I’ve often heard out-of-town guests comment that the sound must be coming from hidden speakers – that’s how loud these little frogs can be sometimes!
Having lived on the island for some time now (albeit part time), I’ve grown to love the sound of the coqui frogs.
For our meal, we decided to order a few appetizers and eat tapas style.
As usual, we had bread to start with a trio of oil, herbed butter and balsamic vinegar for dipping.
Then, we enjoyed a tuna tartare, white fish ceviche, truffle fries, and a mushroom salad – all of which were delicious!
The tartare is one of my absolute favorite dishes on the menu and I almost always order it when I eat here!
Delicious food, great presentation, and a relaxed ambiance make Trattoria Italiana one of my local faves!
