Yesterday, we rented a cabana and spent the day enjoying the palm tree lined pool at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Since it was a Wednesday, Hard Rock was hosting their weekly ‘Just the Tip’ pool party, which meant there was a DJ and a super fun party atmosphere.
Although we spent plenty of time in the pool, it also felt really good to have a private space to relax in that was in the shade …with water misters. Not to mention, each of the cabanas has a fridge, a flatscreen TV, a safe to hold your belongings while you swim, plenty of fresh towels and comfortable couches to lounge on, and of course a server to bring you your frozen watermelon margaritas and ice cold, Bud Light Lime!!! Since it was over 100 degrees outside (no joke – the Las Vegas weather can be a scorcher), we also ordered plenty of bottled water to keep us hydrated and a few yummy snacks like seared Ahi tuna and a fresh fruit platter to keep our bellies nourished.
My favorite part of the day, besides relaxing in the cabana, was chillin’ in the shallow end of the pool and digging my toes in the sand – the texture of the sand was so soothing and heavier than the sand that most pools use, making it easier to clean and less likely to muck up the water. It was almost like a super smooth gravel that you’d find at the bottom of a fish tank. The DJ was playing upbeat music all day and I even played a few rounds of beach ball – so much fun!!!
