Heading North from the great Redwoods, JC and I stopped for the night in Crescent City. Around the same time as we were checking in to our hotel there was an earthquake not too far from where we were staying and there were tsunami pamphlets in our room with facts and tips on surviving a tsunami. Yikes! Thankfully, all was calm seaside and we didn’t have to put any of the tips to use!
We were only in Crescent City for one night and chose to stay at Ocean View Inn & Suites which is rated #1 on TripAdvisor for hotels in the area. The rooms were large and we could see the ocean from our balcony. There was also a jacuzzi, an electric fireplace, free internet in the rooms, and a free continental breakfast which was nice. Nautical themed decor including a large collection of hand made sail boats and a mural added a nice touch. The rooms though clean, felt a little dated despite being a relatively new property. All in all, however it was a pleasant experience – tsunami warning aside!
