For the beginning of our San Diego trip, the bf and I booked unit 402 at ocean front property, Capri by the Sea. We missed the fine print and accidentally booked a double queen room in a slightly outdated unit, but nonetheless, we were happy with our stay. Our rental was spacious and had an amazing view of the ocean, which more than made up for the old carpeting and beds (which unfortunately are in desperate need of an updating). For only a few dollars more per night, we could have upgraded to a unit that was fully renovated, but we didn’t realize this fact until it was too late and we were happily nestled into our ‘dated’ room.
Carpeting and old beds aside, we had a unit that was clean, had stellar views, more than enough space for the two of us AND a full size kitchen equipped with all the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glassware, and utensils we could hope for when cooking a meal in our home away from home, while enjoying a nice glass of wine as the sun set from our balcony.
The night we checked in there was a full moon and the beach was basically a party on the sand. A few dozen folks were making the most of their day by surfing, jogging, playing beach frisbee, and just generally enjoying the California coastline that for a few days, was our backyard.
