After narrowing down the results, I chose these great black boots (Larissa), in faux leather with a chunky heel. I thought they would be perfect for fall and for transitioning into winter.

Tall boots are a great wardrobe staple since you can wear them with so many different outfits. Last weekend, I took them for a test drive, so to speak, as I spent the day enjoying Connecticut’s transitioning foliage and a roadside pumpkin stand. More below.

I love the detail in the stitching and buckled strap. I also really like how the boots are narrow on my calf which looks great with skinny jeans or with tights and a dress. There is a wider-calf version available as well.
