A breath taking abyss of wonder, Santorini has a dramatic and magical beauty unlike anyplace else. White sculptured villages with blue painted windows are nestled atop steep volcanic cliffs, offering magnificent views of the Aegean Sea and spectacular sunsets.
Famous for it’s Cosmopolitan atmosphere, this archipelago paradise is known for it’s exciting night life, crystalline waters, golden sandy beaches, beautiful churches and charming villages. Mykonos continues to retains the chacteristic allure of a port town featuring whitewashed houses with blue doors and windows, narrow paved streets, flowered balconies and a wonderfully magical atmosphere.
The authentic and magical beauty of Hydra has gained it the title of artist colony, contributing to the Island’s Cosmopolitan and fashionable character. Famous for it’s striking views of red-tiled houses and narrow stone – paved streets, this architectural splendor offers unique and exceptional allure.
Reminiscent of it’s religious past, Patmos offers increaing wonder and unending awe. Religion and Christian architecture play a vital role in the life of the island with a majestic medieval monastery embracing nearly every area of the island. It is a treasure trove of historical, spiritual and cultural heritage that is known to rejuvenate the mind and soul.
The collection embodies modern elegance, femininity and power reminiscent of the luxurious Pamella Roland style. Fabrications and colors are dynamic yet elegant; infusing hues of Mediterranean blue, bone white and sunset orange with textured gold and silver metallics. Flowing silk chiffons are complimented by braided detailing, hints of brocade, sunburst pleats and intricate beading suggestive of classic Grecian culture.
Spring 2011 features refreshing goddess-like cocktail dresses and evening gowns in asymmetrical silhouettes. Suiting also reflects the flowing Grecian style, accenting muted angles and draping fabrics with textured details and pleating. From a draped one-shouldered silk chiffon dress with braided strap detail in Mediterranean blue to an elegant golden suit with a sunburst pleated pant, the collection was designed for a modern and flawless evening look.
Roland will debut the spring 2011 collection for the first time in a presentation format at the Whitney Museum of American Art. A natural setting for her premier presentation, Roland is a longtime supporter of the Whitney as a member of the Board of Trustees, National Committee and the Painting and Sculpture Committee. In September 2009, Pamella Roland sponsored the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit opening and is looking forward to future artistic collaborations.
