This morning: Down the runway came these warrior angels that strutted to the beat of drums over trendy techno music. Models wore warm nude shades of shadow all over their eyelid that even extended over the bridge of the nose and to the temples of the face. Head wraps around their forehead with neutral colored feathers sticking straight up from behind their heads. Models had their hair pin straight with thin braids placed randomly along with pieces of hair pulled out of the braids.
With the hair, makeup and music evoking such a strong sense of native America one would expect the collection itself to be vivid, maybe with green, red, yellow and brown fabric flowing down the runway, but it was the exact opposite. Nicholas K’s Spring Summer 2014 collection ranged of hues from white, gray, taupe, and black.Zoya provided the polish for the show. They created monochromatic nails by using green, brown, and blue polishes with a matte top coat and chevron tip.

What Daniel Martin had to say about the collection:
“The collection is inspired from a strong, nomadic downtown girl. Across the eyes we used bronzer to mimic war paint. We smeared it on the eyes, wrapped it around the cheek and used highlighter on top of cheekbones. The models are wearing nothing on their lips and no mascara to let the color on the eyes stand out.”Cristina Bartolucci, Chief Creative Director of NYX said:
“We’re using bronzer in revolutionary area; we swept it across the eye over the bridge of the nose. It’s a modern take on bringing attention to the eyes without using mascara. We mixed highlighter in foundation that creates sheen to the foundation. We used two matte brown eye shadows mixed with a hot orange that has a bit of glitter, when mixed together is a great earthy tone.“Source: beautypress.com
