This summer, I am really loving a brand called Muse. A few months ago, (when it was still cold here on the East Coast), I had the chance to view Muse’s Spring/Summer 2012 Collection, which includes lots of the season’s hottest trends like color blocking, bright prints, asymmetrical cuts, and bold patterns!
Muse caters to the ‘bold and daring’ woman and isn’t afraid to be fashion forward and glamorous. With collections made for lux travel like a trip to the French Riviera, Muse styles can take you from a day out on the boat, to a night out on the town. Despite, the glam-appeal, Muse is very wearable and affordable for the savvy, fashionista.
All of the photos below are from my visit to their showroom and I’ve even included a couple of snapshots of their mood boards – I always love seeing the inspiration behind a collection.
One of the trends that I have been seeing a lot for Spring/Summer 2012 is this retro – inspired, zig-zag/striped print.
Another HUGE trend right now is color blocking. This look was rampant on the runway and sure to be a big hit for the next few seasons. The trick to this look is making sure that you don’t mix too many contrasting colors at once.
Bold prints like the dress below are also very ‘on trend’ for this year’s fashion. The great thing about this sexy, little number is that you can wear it with flats in the day and then really glam it up at night with heels and some statement jewelry. Although hard to tell in a photo, the material and cut of this dress are perfect for the traveler – essentially wrinkle – free and super comfy!
The maxi dress came back in style a few seasons ago and will be around for awhile to come. I am totally obsessed with the water color-esque print on this dress and the fabric is super flowy.
Similar to the dress before last, this gorgeous printed dress is perfect for a day-to-night transition and seems like it would be a great travel item to pack for a travel excursion (somewhere warm, of course).
I am completely in love with the asymmetrical top on this dress! So casual/comfortable and yet glamorous as the same time!
Jungle fever – a popular look as seen on the snake-print dress below. Also, the pop of yellow on the inside really makes this print stand out!
Once again, here’s that zig/zag/striped pattern that I mentioned, though this time on a blazer! Amazing!!!!
The wide legged trouser is back and the more flowy the material, the better!
This brightly colored orange dress would look great paired with some gold jewelry or as the foundation for some DIY color-blocking. The great thing about a solid colored dress is that it is essentially a canvas for your sense of creativity!
Bling it on! How great is this embellished top?
More bright orange – a fun color and a great look for summer!
