Kim Hicks is known for her exquisite gowns made for a discerning crowd that can afford the luxuries in life and so what better place to debut her fall 2012 collection than at the Woolworth Mansion?
It’s hard to find a more luxurious backdrop than a historic mansion estimated to be worth about – oh, a mere 90 million dollars. You know, pocket change (kidding). Especially given that the jewelry alone in the collection was worth 10 million (not kidding). Hosting the event was none other than the fabulous, Derek Warbuton, and celebrity guests in attendance included socialites and reality television stars, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan, who appeared to be right in their element sipping on Champagne and nibbling on orderves like seared tuna with a cucumber ginger relish. While the mansion boasted an art collection that could put some smaller museums to shame, and the guest list was dripping with the who’s who of Manhattan, the real star of the event was Kim Hicks and her designs. While I could go on in length about the immaculate attention to detail or the applause worthy silhouettes, I think the photos below exemplify the point – that Kim Hicks is haute couture at it’s best.
