Designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra returned to MADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios to show their Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The show featured music by The Misshapes, hair by Nelson Vercher for Rita Hazan, make up by MAC Cosmetics and nails by Essie.
“This collection was inspired by an amalgam of our favorite heroines of scifi and fantasy,” explain Costello & Tagliapietra. “These are pieces for an imaginary tale of power and strength. Books of European fairy tales spun with vintage militaria were used to explore new techniques in couture finishings, leather and thread tracing the body’s curves against the colors of jewels discovered in a long lost treasure, slightly deeper and slightly richer; a certain magic. We had alpaca yarn woven to look like an alien fur and reimagined the textures of reptiles, hand weaving them into jacquards that glimmer with depth and surface tension.”
