Just after Christmas, I headed up to North Stonington, Connecticut for a mini post-Christmas vacation. Since getting here, I have been enjoying a little relaxation at the Bellisimo Grande Hotel, as well as some gaming at Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
Tonight, I drove out to Mohegan Sun where I had dinner with family at Todd English’s Tuscany Restaurant. For those of you who have been to Mohegan Sun before, this is the Italian Restaurant located by the giant indoor waterfall. While dining, I opted for the Chef’s sampler which included a house salad, a salmon starter, and a petite filet followed by a chocolate volcano cake for dessert. The table shared the chef’s macaroni and cheese, silk potatoes with gorgonzola, asparagus with lemon, and a cheese and meat platter with hummus, mustard, and fig spread. The food was delicious and I would definitely like to go back and try some of the other menu options. I left completely full with leftovers that I plan to enjoy tomorrow morning thanks to an in suite refrigerator. To drink, I tried the white sangria followed by a bottle of Shiraz that was split by the table. The sangria was made with ground cinnamon which added a delicious flavor! The waitress was friendly and very accommodating in explaining the menu, catering to my garlic allergy (not always easy at an Italian restaurant), and just providing overall good service. See dinner menu below.
